RANDA WAS CONFUSED after hearing Elequra’s hypothesis. She and her team were intrigued by the idea, which Elequra expressed, fearing that it could be true. That would provide him with the cover to do covert operations until he was deemed a liability. This would explain why he was not assigned a commission at a vital command. However, it would not explain why he was gifted with this sector! Still, a Specialist was a Specialist. “Who are you? Truly!” She asked.

Unfazed, The Sheriff then turned back, to look at her. “Despite your looks, you sure are unrefined!” He replied. “Manners dictate that one should introduce oneself first, before asking for another’s name.”

Was he just mad because of following proper etiquette! Seriously! Randa thought. “I am Lady Randa of the House of Ten, and these are my teammates,” Randa forced herself to reply as she looked raged and more irritated.

“I see! That explains a lot. Nice to meet you, Randa,” The Sheriff replied. “My name is Ghiless, and now, scram! I want to be left alone.” He added as he turned his back and began to walk ahead again, marching through Bal and Shem.

Randa was enraged, yet as she looked at his back; an idea sprung inside her mind. “Fine then, we will leave you alone,” Randa said. “But technically you are still a member of the Aggregate, so you should know that I get debriefed after I go home. I will then submit a report to my superiors and the King of course; in which I will Relay every detail of this mission, including you being a Specialist.” She added.

Randa knew that the Sheriff would consider the possible consequences that he had to deal with if word was to spread of him being there. She speculated that regardless of what the King would say, she was certain that her superiors would differ. If I asked them nicely with Untamed’s help of course. Since it would be a waste to leave a Specialist in a place like that, especially because they were rare to find. Even if he had a useless ability sealed. Consequently, they would press the King to reinstate him. Perhaps the King would forgive him for disobeying, and insulting him, perhaps not. However, he would undoubtedly not cover him if certain high-ranking officers requested the Sheriff into active duty again. Even if he was an incompetent failure, he still knew that much. “Which I will make sure they will. Then you would have to kiss your drunkard days here goodbye.” She smirked. The Sheriff then stopped his march and stood still for a few moments; contemplating her words. “But if you were to help us as ordered, I can still tell the King about your contribution and keep some details entirely left out of my Relay to Brass.
